Agricultural Waste tips

Plastic recycling is no longer in it's infancy with many UK companies having completed over 20 years of business. The outlook for the sector is positive as it embraces the current needs of everyone on the planet local jobs from local resources as most major economies are looking to slim export and import ratios will have to balance somewhat as the consumer purchasing power of local buyers will dwindle without that offer of employment. Certainly the farming community has embraced the future and is starting to reap the benefits of recycled plastic products. Here's 7 tips to make the process easier for yourself

1. If possible sort your agricultural waste into categories for example string, net, fertiliser bags, cardboard and paper, buckets and containers, feed bags, silage waste.

2. Keep all farm building clear of agricultural scrap plastic. Remove unsightly litter and have a recycling bin and liner system to handle the waste.

3. Make sure you have authorisation from the environmental protection agency first before you tackle the burning of any waste oils you do need authorisation for your appliance.

4. Get your farm plastic recycled by a company that will close the ecological loop and produce argicultural equipment that can be used in a farm setting.

5. Only burn farm waste or "plant tissue" if you have prior consent form SEPA.

6. Monitor your waste regularly to minimise any leakage check your water usage carefully here for increasing levels of slurry build up.

7. Make sure you have authorisation from the environmental protection agency first before you tackle the burning of any waste oils you do need authorisation for your appliance.
