The Director General of Metal, Machinery, Textile and Miscellaneous Department of Industry, said Ansari Bukhari, the establishment of safeguards on wire products from China and Malaysia subject to cancellation due to negligence of employers.
"Employers are not as aggressive as wire nails being actively supplying data on KPPI (Committee of Indonesia). Because of the security instrument amplifier data are incomplete, the government adopted a policy of tough safeguards," he said in Jakarta yesterday.
He pointed out, other industrial clusters simultaneously filed a request with the duty of securing the safeguard 14% in the first year, 115% second year, and 85% in the third. KPPI, Ansari said, did not find sufficient evidence to impose an additional duty wire.
To set a safeguard instrument, there are three requirements must be met. First, studies must prove there was a high increase in imports. Second, there were injuries on domestic companies. Third, there is a linkage between the increase in imports and the injuries caused.
